Dalai Lama the 14th, was born in 6th July, 1935 at the tiny Hamlet at Takster, Amod, in the North Eastern part of Tibet.

His Education started at the Age of six, with Major and Minor Subject of Buddhist Philosophy. He secured honours in Degree and get awarded as Geshe Lharampa holder, the doctorate -equivalent award in Buddhist Philosophy.

Before completing his final degree exam in1959, he was invited to take political leadership of Tibet, after the Chineses occupation of Tibet in 1949. He made peaceful attempts to solve the crisis with Chinese Leaders like Mao Zedong, but Chinese political oppression on Tibet has forced him to run into the Exiled life. He has been given sanctuary in India at a Dharamsala, which is considers to be the Chair of Political Administration with exile for Tibetan people.

With His power of contempt he was able to bring resolutions in United Nations over the Democracy of Tibet in 1959, 1961 and in 1965. His Holiness has brought many peace initiatives with the Chinese government, but not taken into consideration by the Chinese Government till now, one main declaration was made by His Holiness in 1987, named Five Point Peace Plan for Tibet and its people in order to bring them Peace and the abandoning of Chinese rule. In 1988 He addressed European Parliament at Strasbourg, emphasising the need for implementation of Five Point Peace Plan.

Global Role and Recognition

As a man of Peace, He was awarded Global Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. This was given for his consistent on advocating the realities of Non-Violence in midst of aggression from Chinese administrators.

He has visited more than 62 Countries in the world and had meeting with Presidents, Prime Ministers and other Rules of major Countries in the World. His Holiness has received various Awards, Doctorates and prizes on the recogniztion of his peace march and non-violence. He has written more than 72 books.

He is a freedom fighter in the non-violence method, a Buddhist Philosopher and the Nobel Prize holder for the Peace.

He is famous for his role in opposing the Chinese against the occupation of Tibet, since 1949 and living legend and Hope for the Tibetan People to get Democracy in their mother land.
